So How do we get started?

Getting started is easy.

The BreakUp programme gives you the tools you need to negotiate a legally binding separation agreement with minimal legal fees.

1. Register for the BreakUp programme.

Register for the BreakUp programme by paying a one-time fee of $280 (GST inclusive). You will then be directed to a link to complete the questionnaire.

2. Complete the questionnaire.

Complete the questionnaire and a schedule of proposed asset division. Upload the documents to our secured server.

3. Send the schedule of proposed asset division to your ex.

Once you confirm the proposed asset division it will automatically be sent to your ex. Your ex can then either confirm the proposed asset division or make a counter proposal.

4. Send the agreement to your lawyer.

Once you and your ex have agreed on the proposed asset division, you are ready to send it to your lawyer for review.

Your agreement will include:

  • Breakup agreement;
  • Schedule of proposed asset division
  • Document package

5. Send the Breakup agreement and have it certified by your lawyers.

Have the Breakup agreement reviewed and certified by your lawyers. Once certified the Breakup agreement will be valid and binding under New Zealand law.
